In my new job I teach at one school on Tues, Wed, Thu. A different school on Fri, and Eikaiwa on Sat.
My Friday school has 30 students. Total. First grade = 六人, Second grade = 十六人, Third Grade = 八人.
It is friggin sweet as.

Outside of having to teach on Saturday's I would love to have that kind of schedule. I take it you are off on Sunday and Monday?

How did you score that job?

On another note, has there been any threads started about ways to find new ALT employment with a board of education? I'm looking to relocate to Hyogo next year, and I'd really like to continue working in elementary and junior high schools down there (without having to sell my soul to Interac or such like).
Any pointers would be GREATLY appreciated  Thanks all :tut:

It was on Gaijinpot. The job required applicants to have teaching papers, rather than just a degree. All I could suggest is to get a TESOL Diploma. Takes about 6 months for a 250 hr course, and costs about 8 man.

Nice!!

I still have to teach 6 days a week, but am in more of an authoritarian position now, so the office/classroom atmosphere isn't as stressful. I no longer feel like I'm working to impress anyone, but an equal staff member to the rest of the office.(finally!!)
