Lesson Ideas - gerund, JHS 2nd year

Hey all,

I'm struggling a bit to come up with lesson ideas for the gerund for JHS 2年生.

New Horizon pg. 60 & 61

Key Language:
"I finished writing this poem"
"Singing Christmas songs is popular"

I proposed an activity where the students are given a card with a sentence written on it, for which they must find a matching card which completes a full, natural-sounding idea. Then they come to me to approve or reject the sentence-pair.

The JTE thinks this activity will have the kids decicating too much time to just one or two sentences. She would like something more involving, maybe with group work.

Do you guys have any ideas? Any thoughts are welcome.

Explain how gerunds are important and it's only 'too much' time if the kids understand it fully and can use them in a sentence. You and the JTE could always mime a verb and they can guess what it is, in teams, by shouting out or putting hands up?
