If you go into portal statistics and view the statistics, you will find that New Zealand is not featured.

Please understand that the portal statistics are automatically generated from the country the poster or viewer is accessing the site from. (At least that is what I was led to believe)
Are you kiwi's posting or viewing the site from within Japan or another country posted on the stats page? Your numbers would be included there and not your country of origin.
