Donations

Is there another way to donate, for people without credit cards? There has to be. This site has been a life saver and I would be lost without it when it comes to teaching. So because of it, I would more then be willing to pitch in. BUt do not have a credit card.

Do you have a paypal account? You can link that to your bank account and transfer funds.

I'll also put up my J-bank info today so people can to a transfer from bank-to-bank here in Japan. I've got 5 classes today so it probably won't happen until the PM.

Cool?

Might I suggest that if people want your account information you send it via PM rather than put it one the open board?

Or and here is something to consider as well, set up an account with another bank and use it only for this site, easier to keep track of and keeps potential problems down to a minimum I would think.

I was going to recommend the separate bank account. That way it isn't linked directly to your main account and what not.

I have never figured out how to link paypal to my bank acct. I thought it could only be done with a credit card.

@Pakalika, linking your paypal account to your bank is definitely doable. That's how my paypal account is currently linked. You can add a credit card link to your account to speed up the process of transactions, but I don't have one linked to it...only bank account.

The first time I tried to link my bank account back home with my paypal account, I got frustrated and quit cuz I couldn't figure it out. The second time I did, everything went fine.

I have included bank information on the donation page if anyone is interested to do a furikomi (money transfer).

Most Japanese banks don't support deposits to PayPal, in my experience.

Actually there are a good portion of the major Japanese banks that do it now. I know a year or so ago it was close to zero, but paypal has been working on that it seems.
