Suggestion for a Sub Fora Or Just Sticky it.."The Learning..

...Links to Learning Japanese.

A one stop thread to links for learning Japanese. People would leave links to helpful sites that we all can access for free. Here are a few of my personal favorites, the first one is a link to a huge resource filled page of other links related to Japan and Japanese learning.

The Learning Links To Learning Japanese

That link is a one stop shoppping link to just about anything you would need to include the following,
Kana | Kanji | Speaking | Listening | Reading | Vocab | Literature | Grammar | Dictionaries | Online Courses & Resources | Computing | Newspapers | Culture | Society & Politics | Chat

It also includes probably, from my uneducated opinion of course, the best dictionary server on Japanese around supplied by Monash University's Jim Breen's and his WWWJDIC

Check it out! This site is about sharing, so how about this too? :D

hhhmm...not quite sure if this is needed. http://jhsenglipediaproject.com/externallinks_studyingjapanese.aspx

I added the link you wrote because it looks pretty good.

As far as dictionaries go, I prefer www.alc.co.jp dictionary/translator to Breen's. Also, check this out: http://jhsenglipediaproject.com/externallinks_onlinetranslators.aspx

If you want to pass along other links you like, I'll check them out and post them on the site if I think they're good.

Hey no problem just a suggestion. :D I saw the thread with the Japanese language lesson and figured.........got a ton of ideas and it really doesnt bother me at all if you choose them or not.

I am not Japanese, if you catch my drift. ;)

One other suggestion for you......could you please make the links that you post directly linkable instead of a person needing to copy and paste them? :?:

I realize that I am probably being both anal and pedantic here but it just makes it easier to see what you are refering to without having to navigate away from this page or open a new page to view the site you are linking to. Thank you.

Oh and on a side note I have used the alc site as well, only problem though is that if you go through the main page it is all in Japanese and at least Breens site is in English.

Plus your online dictionary is not accurate really, I am sorry. It doesnt give instructions on entering Japanese Kanji or Kana and romaji entered comes out wrong for some words that can be written in both English and Romaji. It also would not translate the kanji I entered into the site either.

Now maybe I am doing something wrong I don't know...........
I might suggest letting people know how to use the alc site though, maybe a walk through to where they need to input things etc etc etc.

Oh forgot one thing....the wordinator link you have on there doesnt work anymore, it says it is closed and gives a link to another site.

I am sorry I disagree which is fine btw and I hope you dont take it personally because that is not my intent but the Monash/Breen site in my experience while taking a little work getting used to is probably more accurate overall than any other the other sites you have linked.

No worries. I'm not mad; we're just shooting ideas around. I'm in the midst of updating the 'Dictionary' page at Englipedia and thought I had Breen's on that list but guess not. I'll add it today.

Also, if you have any other useful links, let me know. There are also a ton of links (teaching/non-teaching) on the old forum that still need to come over to this forum...
