Well said square!

I knew you were on jref too, and btw, Japan based forums are nothing like what they once were. Not as many around and few truly "open', unless you find an "otaku" based one.

Good luck!

Speak for paul if you wish. No guilt here. Just picking up on a guy who seemed way too sensitive and slightly pretentious about the forum's condition and mod.

Why did you guys delete your Canada disses? Or Beezlebub's delightful insight into the nature of dicks? Now my title looks like a non-sequitor :/

Oh well. Cheers!

@ square

You are genuinely offended, aren't you?
No one here has ever given you reason to be.

I stand by my earlier comment that Canadians have "thin-skin" and take everything personal...present company included.

Don't get angry. I'm just making a cultural observation.
If you mention a negative stereotype about Americans, I'll likely agree. But even if I don't, I won't get my feelings hurt.

Maybe in Canada, everyone is "politically correct" and never says anything that might hurt delicate feelings...but everywhere is not Canada.

Welcome back square. Hope you decide to hang around!

I don't think all that blather was deleted but moved to the grave.

Canadian's do love to get along! Nothing wrong with that!

I like to get along too. I'm not Canadian but I have been to Toronto airport!
Next time I'd actually quite like to leave said airport and go for a wander. Call me crazy.

As Michael Jackson once said, 'I'm a lover, not a fighter'.

I went to Niagara Falls once.
That waterfall is shared by America and Canada.

I'll admit it...the Canadian was nicer.

I am a bit surprised that you would even consider it otherwise.

There are currently only 4 people who could have done that, Square himself, myself, Otaku, and one other whom no one here currently knows, and I can guarantee that it was none of us, so that leaves Square himself.

I wasn't really assuming it was you or one of the others you mentioned. I was just poking fun at the situation. I suppose that's quite hard to put across in text.

Late night, thought I'd look in.

'People' didn't turn on me, beelzebub and Bulk just seemed like unhappy people who like disagreements or want to instigate. Beelzebub in particular seemed like a dummy, so it was easy to ignore him. Not that Bulk seemed smart, but I'd label him smarter than Bub. I can't block Bulk, so no point wasting my time processing his comments. Facebook is pretty good that way, when someone is just being an ass, you cut them off without replying, but that's not an option here. Benoit's 'pretentious' comment actually struck at me at the time, and I had to consider it. Ultimately, I had to decide that it's better to expect more from life and my own work and get labelled pretentious rather than just aim low and produce what you consider garbage. My goal has never been to work on the Big Bang Theory.

I'm still in Sapporo, and considering the greedy stupidity the city has had with ALTs this year, I'm sure the (relatively) massive number of new teachers the city is getting this week will be surfing this site for advice... there's zero chance they will be adequately trained. Here's hoping this site is a solid resource.

Since I last posted, I've got a publisher, had a book published, and am now working on a new book about the stupid ALT scandal here. Appearing at the Nevermind the Books in Sapporo, and Comic Arts Tokyo this month. Good times, hanging with creative types. Having properly settled into Sapporo, I really like life here. If anyone reading this is in Sapporo, and does comics, PM me, I get an e-mail notification, and we'll bring you into the fold.

Anyway, best to those who are good people, and my sympathy to those who spend their time being dicks online. Haven't been following the forum, but odds are that those who were good before are still good, and those who were dicks before are still dicks. I'll check in in 2019 or so. No promises.

*edit: dislike to like, late night grammar mistake.

Wow! Why would you say that? I was very polite to you...with the exception, I suppose, of one comment which I wrote after you starting becoming unreasonably defensive about other people's comments.
I only said that you seem to have "thin skin" because you got so riled up over such minor things. And I noted that nearly every person that I've met from Canada was similarly thin-skinned.

I don't mind if you assume that I'm a "dummy". I wasn't trying to hurt your feelings...I just think a grown man shouldn't get offended so easily.
Either way, it doesn't diminish that fact that you have artist talent!

Well said Beez. I guess Square assumed that you weren't around anymore and decided to have a big of a 'free-kick' lashout! He certainly does have artistic talent, that's for sure.

I was genuinely surprised at how nasty things got though! In my opinion Sirbascillus or watever was the rudest, most antagonistic person here.
