himitsu, you can slap me up side the head for this one, figuratively speaking that is, but "smart" phones are only as smart or dumb as the person using them.

And that is coming from experience :dunce:

Blimey, someone actually went and got a 3D phone. I personally don't see the point in them and prefer a phone where the development money has been spent on other bits of the phone rather then shoe horning in a second camera for the novelty factor.

Check out Androidforums.com, they have individual forums for each make of Android phone so you may find answers to your problems in the Evo 3D forum.

So, I went once again to the shop, and this time I sent the mail to that staff person's smart phone, and she could also not see the full content. So it seems to be an AU problem. I don't know if they just allow much less data than others, or why it's like that. I also sent it to a friend who has a Softbank prepaid foldable, and he could see everything..

That didn't play any role, I actually found out after I got it. It was recommended by a friend, that's all.

Not sure if you mean me or the au people, but my phones definitely have/had malfunctions (no email access, not working pre-installed game..).

Does anyone here use AU? Foldable or smart phone? Why don't you test it, just copy a longer text with links into your pc mail and send it to your ezweb address and check if the whole text arrives or not! You can try this for example:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smart_phone

just copy the first three paragraphs, from "a smartphone is.." to ".. in the past."
I can only see it until "Microsoft's" (ie. not even half..)

Made the test with a colleague who's also using AU (sharp smartphone) and she on the other side could see the full text... i.e. some can, some can't, and it doesn't seem to depend on the carrier or device maker..
I think I'll just have to give up and put up with it..

Found out some more (and some new "funny" stuff occured)
Apparently AU is using new servers (not for all phones tho..), which probably allow smaller mail sizes (whyever).

As to the game problem.. after asking in two au shops and even calling the center (who said I should send it in for repair), I actually did send it for repair... and it came back after 9 days (they said 6-7 but whatever). Went to the shop to get it back, thought it shouldn't take more than 10 minutes.. yet again I was a dreamer. The repair center answered that they couldn't find any problem but re-installed the software or so. Now when the staff put my sd card back, the game showed the same problem like before. Thus we concluded it must be the sd card, as it worked with the one AU used. Which means it wasn't even necessary to send it to the repair center if someone had had the idea (aka. knowledge) it could be the sd card..
Now here comes the "funny" part, I said "ok, than you just have the replace the broken card". Answer: "Yes, but actually we don't have such a service..."
Me: "........ :eyebrow: "
She was obviously embarrassed about this (especially knowing all the trouble I've had) and called the allmighty "center" to check and apparently they said sth like the sd card is innitially not included, but just offered by them as an extra... (my phone doesn't have sim-card, works with sd cards)
I.E. what AU basically says is "buy our phone, we will even give you an 8gb sd card (which you will definitely need anyway) with it, don't guarantee that it works tho".. after the staff girl spoke with a colleague, she said she'll give me their (used) sd card, but as a secret as it's actually not allowed.. really, Japan must generally have the best service in the world (obviously only as long as it's by the rule book), but sometimes...
Then she was reprogramming my phone for the number and mail address, but there was a problem with calls, it didn't work. Finally she could solve it after another call to the center (but it took another 15 min. or so).
Another 2 hours spent there (must be about 10h by now).
When I had my old phone I never had any trouble with au for 5 years, but maybe the smart phone business is too much for them!? (maybe the competitors aren't better tho, I don't know)

This is not fundamentally an issue with the software or the hardware. This is an issue with a service provider attempting to lock a phone into their network using techniques that were used for 'dumb' phones. As far as I know, Google, thus Android offer no support for locking a phone to a MSD card as opposed to a sim-card. The inherent fear of somebody replacing a sim-card in a phone is showing AU up, in the Japanese market.
