Hey Kat, good for you for talking to talk to your coworkers, but yeah, you are going to hit a wall for most of the rest of this month and next. As you are aware I'm sure, it's time for teachers to figure student "grades", prep students for tests and prepare their tearducts for graduation. While that shouldn't stop you from trying to talk to people, you might want to use this time a little more constructively by studying or reading your favorite novel. =) Studying might actually bring folks to you!

Hello all! Its nice to find a forum where ppl dont take themselves seriously

Ive been here ... half a Junk. (thats 4 - 5 years) Married to my lovely Japanese husband with no kids and none coming soon.
I work out in the cute-little-towns-side of Tochigi.
I started at a large Eikaiwa corporation which went bankrupt,(ooh which one could THAT be) then a smaller school teaching business men. Then somehow in their wisdom, they decided that all my years of teaching adults and upper managers was a great foundation to start working in the Japanese school system. With little kids. And the Hello Song. Yes Im still bitter. I was thrown in the deep end with no preparation. I didnt even know you had to take off your shoes! (who takes off their shoes to enter a school??) (apparently everyone in Japan)

But now that I figured out some things, I enjoy teaching the kids much more than the adults.

In my free time I am a gamer, book reader, Japanese studier, and once in a while I pop into Second Life to see how my little mermaid business is doing.I sell tails and animations and some other small scripts.

I dapple and tinker in all sorts of things but a master of none.

Me, but only in Elementary Schools, JHS and HS....now way. I always carry an extra pair of slippers or shoes in my car just for this purpose. And when you go to places that people usually dont prepare for stuff like "no shoes" it makes you look like a friggin genious too!

The one's I really hate is having to change to bathroom zori that only cover about 1/3 of my jolly green giant feet.
