mmmmm .. burnt remains.

reminded me of a kanji-a-day perl script I used to have on a website though:
http://www.rikai.com/perl/Home.pl?bean=KanjiOfTheDay&view=about

Otaku, you could slap that somewhere on Englipedia if people like that sort of thing.

Thanks for posting Otaku, I am a visual learner. Although I knew the ones above, I never really thought about the images behind them. I guess because I usually see them typed in some form so they look much simpler than the images they represent.

And I am all about learning the radicals at the moment. http://www.textfugu.com is the best $20 a month I have spent in relation to Japanese langauge learning.

Speaking of which, I once wrote down all the bushus JHS school students study in their Japanese classes:

It's a great book, eh? Breaks down all 1,945 kanjis a student learns by the time they graduate HS. Sad though, really. Students only are required to know less than 2,000 kanji to graduate HS? Not much of a vocabulary.

...guess that's why everything in this country is either "sugoi!" "oishii!" "umaii!" and/or "kawaiiii!"
