Calendar or Temperature?

When will you switch into long sleeves?

I remember the comments I received for my cultural ineptitude. I wore a short sleeved shirt because it was a particularly warm day, forgetting that it was fall. I heard many comments from my colleagues, along the lines of "samui, desu ka?" I couldn't wrap my head around it, considering it was a warm day.

I am finally reading Memoirs of a Geisha for the first time and realize this goes back quite far: The tradition appears to favour the calendar over the temperature (presumably so everyone know what to wear).

So, what do you guys do? Do you change your clothing based on the calendar (as a respectful member of society should) or temperature (as an arrogant culturally retard person might do).

Paul chooses physical comfort over psychological comfort and therefore receives the common sense award.

Gibbons....Thank you....I like to think that it comes with age. :overhead:

Not that I am OLD mind you but, I think everyone would be :puke: :puke: :puke: if I ran around in my birthday suit due to the heat here. Excuse me. It isnt the heat, it's the humidity. BULLSHIT, it's the heat AND the humidity.

My wife doesnt know how fortunate she is to have me actually stay here.

She cant take the cold of Wisconsin and I have to deal with the summers here in Okinawa.

Things that love makes one do.............. :stud:

I've been wearing long sleeves all summer long because of all of the damn mosquitos in my school. I will never "switch over".

I don't like short sleeves much either but the mosquitos around this school are rediculous.
