Is there a way to view the levels 2 weeks from now? That would be nice to know.

I saw a picture of kids going to school in Tokyo today with what looked like Hot/Cold lunch bags on their head today. Hard cornered silver alien heads.

There are a few people walking around the streets here covered from head to toe. My wife suggests that they are taking it just a bit too far.

Understanding the Radioactivity at Fukushima (PDF) - From USCB Physcics prof. Ben Monreal. A powerpoint presentation that helps understand all those radiation measurements/stats being tossed around in the news.

Mirroring a gif someone else made: Tokyo radiation images pasted together to make the entire past week visible.

I think that only big spike was when Unit 4 was on fire and the winds blew south for a couple hrs.

Tap water radiation levels are now being monitored. Data here for various cities.

Tap water radiation in one area of Tokyo has exceeded the acceptable level for infants (currently midway between the acceptable level for infants and for adults - so adults shouldn't worry about the tap water too much .. yet).

My wifes aunt, who is in her mid 70's lives in Tokyo, we sent her rice, ramen, batteries, and some other assorted goods because she is not in the best of health and has to carry around an oxygen tank to survive day by day, gave us a call tonight and asked us to send her water too.

According to her there are lot's of Tokyo folks that are REALLY worried about the water supply and have zero trust in TEPCO and and government.

I'll be sending her a few cases of water tomorrow AM, but what we really are hoping for is that she bring her butt down here to Okinawa to live until this all passes over.

see this article (in Japanese)

This article says Tokyo had 10,000 times the present radiation

see http://www.shinchosha.co.jp/magazines/nakaduri/914/

see this site (scroll down slighty) for a graph of how radically the radiation has gone down since the 1940s and 1950s

http://blogs.yahoo.co.jp/ddogs38/34772537.html

In Fukushima they had some high some high radiation from the rain etc (highest) but it only lasted a few days. While there was higher radiation in the whole world for a 10 year period!!!

Also China has stopped inporting Japanese food but Tokyos highest radiation ever recorded was from the Chinese nuclear tests (1960s)!!!
