I think it's a very well laid out article comparing the two plants.

Thank you so much for this table! Good find!

People hear the word radiation, or nuclear and they always think mass destruction, complete contamination, cancer etc...but don't realize how much radiation exists all around us.

They hear Chernobyl and have this mental image of mass deaths ...the truth is the contamination was really bad at Chernobyl but the human toll was actually not as severe as everyone thinks. Ask around the general populace ask them to guess how many died there. You will hear numbers in the hundreds or thousands.

Every second day I hear of a suicide bomber going off in the middle east. Some end up taking about about 64 people in one go. What about heart disease, fatty foods? Cancer related to smoking, car accidents come on lets get some really scary stats up here.

People are always overly spooked by radiation in my opinion.

Good watch about Chernobyl: http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/nuclear-nightmares/

I took this and posted it on my Facebook page for all my friends back home when I came up north. Panic and hysteria and bullshit has abounded over this whole thing.

I read an article that they now have tours into Chernobyl now. You have to wear one of those 'gag' meters and get screened on the way out but you can actually go into the area now.

The eerie shot that sticks in my mind about the Chernobyl plant is the ferris wheel. A week before the ferris wheel was planning to be opened to the public, the plant blew. It still sits there to this day...

Moo, is it too early to ask whether the image in that photo is radiation beams?

I was going to comment on the 'utsukushi' writing but thought I would get flogged for that...

I like the little 'maru' after the hiragana, like that is a sentence or something...
